One great success story involved a patient with severe bruxism, which means they heavily grind their teeth. This patient had ground their teeth almost all the way down to the bone, and as a result, they could no longer chew properly.

We built up both the top and bottom teeth with crowns, which are full-coverage caps on the teeth, in order to restore their vertical dimension. When you grind down your teeth, your vertical dimension decreases, causing your face to collapse. We had to build this back up, and we did so in one visit to ensure everything was even.

The patient was able to chew again, show off their teeth, and even received compliments from friends and family. He told me that a stranger complimented his nice teeth, something that had never happened to him before.
